Well dear readers it is almost Christmas! You can always tell that the festive season is looming when 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' rallies her workmen and whips them into action! So new windows, painted bedroom and a good old clear out have all been in full swing.
It seems new bed; carpet and curtains are next on the list. For me and 'The Cat' it is hell, lots of big men in boots tramping allover the place, I get quite exhausted because I have to follow them everywhere and make sure they are behaving and 'The Cat' can't stand .. noise and strangers so has to take himself off to the shed.
Mind you I have it all to put up with at the 'Senior Partner's' too! I do have a bit of help from Todd there,
who is the Border Collie of the builder.
'She Who Must Be Obeyed' has however, been a bit stressed lately, what with the house being a mess, some people called Monitor harassing her at work and then there is Dennis' and his driving lessons.
Now those of you familiar with 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' know that she is a bit particular about certain things and driving is one of them, she is of course a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and was brought up to consider safety first. While 'Dennis' is of advanced years and has never until three months ago sat in the driver's seat of a car.
Having spent a fortune on driving lessons 'Dennis' was encouraged to buy a small but perfectly formed car from Cuerdale Motors and 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' believed that' as he had only just failed his test he would only need her to sit beside him while he built his confidence up and gained some experience. On the first drive out to visit 'Niece or this little dream was broken and I learnt a few new expletives, which living with 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' for the last six years is certainly saying something. I think it was when 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' curled into the foetal position I knew it was serious.
Anyway 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' is not faint-hearted and has the resilience of a bull elephant. Sadly 'Dennis' is rather bruised down his left side, but is improving. I have managed to take one paw from over my eyes. He might even be going solo by Christmas!
