Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals

St James welcomes enquiries about baptism and we will be delighted to explain what we can offer.  Baptisms are held on most Sundays either at 10.30am with the whole congregation, or at 12.15 with family and friends. Please call the Rector to book a date, and please note there is a £20 charge to cover our admin and candle costs.

Weddings

Please contact the Rector. We also offer blessings of marriages, and services of dedication after a Civil Marriage. Under certain circumstances, we can explore remarriage and whether it would be appropriate.

Funerals

Our old churchyard is still “open”, and we have a new churchyard ready to come on stream soon. We are also able to bury ashes.

Confirmation

Every two years the Bishop visits us to conduct the confirmation of adults and young people. Classes are run for both groups, see the magazine for more information.
