Policy



1 Driving license : Pupils must produce a current, valid and signed driving license on the first lesson. Park Rite SOM must be informed of any changes to the license that may occur during the course of tuition.

 

2 Fitness to drive : Pupils must be able to read a car number plate at 23 meters on the first lesson. Pupils must inform Park Rite SOM of any disabilities that may permanently or temporarily affect their driving. Pupils must always comply with legal requirements for fitness to drive.

 

3 Pupils well being : In the interest of safety pupils are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing, which does not restrict movement.

 

4 Tuition fees : Fees for lessons are payable either on the day or in advance. All accounts must be cleared before taking the official driving test.

 

5 Waiting for arrival : The instructor will normally wait 15 minutes for the late arrival of a pupil and will try to contact the pupil before leaving. It may be occasionally necessary for the pupil to wait for the instructor who may have been delayed. If possible the instructor will phone to inform of any delay if in doubt phone the instructor on his mobile number.

 

6 Cancellation of a lesson by Park Rite : If for any reason of vehicle failure or other emergency a lesson has to be cancelled at short notice an alternative lesson shall be made with mutual consent. Should such a cancellation be a driving test and the test can not be cancelled with in the required time limit Park Rite shall be responsible for the test fee of the next test. Driving test take priority over lessons therefore a lesson already booked may sometimes have to be cancelled if short notice of a driving test is received.

 

7 Cancellation of lesson by pupil : At least 48 hours notice of cancellation of a lesson is required. Late cancellation of a lesson will be charged at normal hourly rate and at the discretion of the instructor. Notice is deemed to have been given when a phone call or a text message has been received by the instructor and acknowledged 48 hours prior to the lesson.

 

8 Cancellation of a test : Pupils are advised of the statuary period of notice required to cancel there driving test under government guide lines. Pupils will be advised in good time if the instructor thinks they are not at the required level to pass the driving test. Park Rite can not be held responsible for any late cancellation of the driving test.

Normally 10 working days is required. If the driving test is cancelled by the testing authority lesson fees are still payable, it may be possible to claim them back of the testing authority. When a test is cancelled by the testing authority a rescheduled test appointment will be made for you by them. If a driving test does not take place due to mechanical failure Park Rite can not be held responsible, however lesson cost may be refunded for the hour of the test and reimbursement of the test fee.

 

9 Supervising examiners : Occasionally pupils may be asked that a supervising examiner accompany them either on a lesson or driving test. The supervising examiner position is to make sure that the required standards are met on lesson and on your driving test; this is a legal requirement and is for public safety.

 

10 The driving test : Your instructor will advise when a driving test date should be applied for. The advice is given on the pupils progress to date and does not guarantee that test standard will be met by the date of the test. Your instructor will advise you in good time if you are not going to meet the required level to pass your driving test so you can cancel the driving test. Park Rite reserves the right to withhold the use of the tuition vehicle for test or lesson if in the instructors opinion of the pupil is?

1 Not at driving test standard.

2 Medically unfit. (Including eyesight)

3 Under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

4 Is not properly licensed to drive.

5 Constantly fail to keep or are late for appointments.

6 Falls in arrears over payment

7 If for any reason the instructor considers the pupil will be unsafe to drive the vehicle.

 

11 Lessons in own car : Lessons may be given in pupils own car as long as the instructor considers the pupil to be safe and on the condition that the car is fully insured for teaching for reward. (Conformation is required in writing) The Instructor can in no way be held responsible for any damage that may happen in your own car as the instructors control; is limited. There is normally no reduction in lesson fees.

 

12 Insurance : The tuition vehicle is fully insured for lessons and the driving test. Park Rite can accept no liability of any kind for loss or damage of any property or belongings of the pupils.

 

13 Legal liabilities : Pupils are to be aware that the instructor’s responsibility is not only of that of the pupil but that of other road users and promote road safety. And in doing so will have to issue instructions that the pupil must be prepared to follow without argument. Park Rite will make every effort to train the pupil to the highest standard, but can not be held liable for any error that the pupils make whilst driving before or after passing there driving test.
