The Driving Test

Booking your driving test You will be advised by your instructor when you should book your driving test and this will be when you have reached the required standard to pass the test. You can book your test on line at www.dsa.gov.uk or www.direct.gov.uk or phone 0870 0101 372. When booking your test you will need to hand your theory certificate, driving license number and your credit card. >

You will need to know your instructors ADI number, this is so your instructor will not be booked for two tests at the same time.

On the day of your test you will need to bring with you your theory certificate, both parts of your driving Licence (photo card licence and the paper counterpart). If you have the old paper licence you will need to bring with you a valid passport. It is normal to have an hour’s lesson before, just to get you settled down and to make sure we are both happy with your driving.

The test

Before the driving starts you will be asked to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres (67 feet) also you will be asked two of the show and tell questions.
