Farnworth Grammar School
Photograph 1972

Ah, the summer of 1972! Long hair, platform soles, heavy music, soul, progressive rock and the smell of patchouli oil. None of these were tolerated at Farnworth Grammar School, as this magnificent photograph clearly demonstrates. On a fine June day, about 700 of the finest Farnworthians gathered in a semi circle round the tennis court for the panoramic camera to sweep its way round the gathered pupils, teachers, lab technicians, administrators and grounds staff. Those who sought notoriety, by nipping round the back to appear more than once, were firmly held in place. The result is here to see. Just wave the mouse over the faces for names.

If you recognise any of those with no name supplied, please let me (Howard Stones) know, stating the section, row number and position from the left. Also, let me know if any of the names are incorrect. To sweep round the photograph, use the 'NEXT' buttons. To return to this page, click 'Farnworth Grammar School 1972' at the foot of the page.
