"THE FOOTBALL WORKFORCE"

The Football Association wants more volunteers to come forward to help in the running of junior football teams like Gregson Lane Juniors.

Willing helpers are always needed. The Club is run entirely by volunteers and we are always looking for more people to help. Even if you can only give a little of your time each week, we can make use of your skills. Many hands make light work. The more people there are to help out, the easier the task will be. But we do appreciate how precious your time can be, so you need not take on more than you can manage.

Here are a few of the jobs that you could do:

red cross

First aider at matches

subs

Collecting match subs

coaching

Helping the coaches at football training

party

Helping to organise social events

secretary

Taking minutes at monthly Club meetings

iron

Washing the kit

linesman

Running the line

nets

Taking the nets down after a match

press

Writing press reports

webmaster

Newsletters or the website

food

Helping with food at social events

chairman

Chairperson at meetings etc. etc

Everyone has different skills and abilities, so there must be a job to suit you. You don't need to know anything about football!

The benefits of becoming involved:
You will meet new friends, help all the children, be part of a successful team and be valued for your contribution, however small.

So don't just stand there and watch whilst your child is enjoying the football, come and get involved, there's plenty to do!

How to get involved? Its easy! Just have a chat with your team manager, or with the Club Secretary, Frank Thompson, on 01254-853185.
